WHY I RAN
I've been passionate about government and politics for a long time. But admittedly, I didn't pay too much attention to local and municipal politics and topics. I was sort of zoned in on national topics and headlines. In late 2016, I realized that change starts at the local level and I knew I wanted to help make that change. I've wanted to run for office because I think voices like mine are often left out. I'm a Latina, a mom, was a lifelong renter until August, and I'm a full time college student. I believe I can bring a new perspective to our local government.I've had a lot of conversations with residents and business owners. I've talked to other public officials. I've read up on the city's issues and learned about the needs we have in Hopkins. I decided to run because, frankly, I care. So while I bring a passionate voice to the table, I also bring an open-mindedness. I want to listen to the residents of Hopkins and really hear you. No matter what side of the aisle you're on, your concerns and your opinions and your voice matters. I'm ready to help make Hopkins a better place for all. Let's get to work.
